Happy New Year!

The big news from me for the new year is that I’m due to give birth on the 28th January! Which means I’ll be taking a break from silhouette cutting just for the first few months while I adjust and establish a routine with the baby.

I plan to be back cutting silhouettes by the start of May.

Silhouette Signage

Silhouettes were a running theme at this wedding, from the invitations right through to the bathroom signs! The bride and groom commissioned me to cut their silhouettes in full length and then used them as icons throughout the whole of the wedding theme. All the graphics were designed by Shelley from: www.appleofmyeyedesign.co.uk and these lovely photos were taken by the wedding photographer Kerry Morgan www.kerrymorgan.com

Group portrait

I did a house visit today to make a silhouette composition of the two children with their beautiful dog. There was a nice balance between the three of them.

Penhaligon’s special promotion day

I had a lovely day today on location, based at three of the central London Penhaligon’s perfumery shops to help promote a re-launch of two special scents from the past. All customers had the opportunity to have their silhouette cut by me as a special thank you for their loyalty. The Penhaligon’s staff were such a delight to work alongside, no wonder they do have so many loyal customers!

Jane Austen Triptic for Restaurant in Worthing

I was asked to create a seaside scene of Worthing pier with Jane Austen and her Darcy promenading along the foreground amoungst a setting typical of her era. This was to be displayed on three panels on a wall in a Worthing restaurant. Below I have joined the three panels to show how they create a continuous panoramic scene.

My silhouettes were used to enhance a section of the Dulux Home Trends show being held this week at Westfield shopping centre. I chose to create a family of five for the bedroom.

The Proposal

My latest commision was to create a scene in silhouette of a couple at the moment that the man got down on one knee and proposed on top of a mountain in a ski resort. I incorporated her response into the mountain scene in the background. This portrait was partly made from transparent vinyl and is designed to be hung with light coming from behind.
